The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in McComb, MS, is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system through hands-on training and community engagement. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program empowers Fellows to become passionate advocates for organic food practices and food justice. Throughout a six-month immersive experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, selected participants receive comprehensive education on organic agriculture, ecological literacy, and community gardening, all at no cost to ensure accessibility. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, working with local non-profits to implement innovative solutions for food distribution and health education, while supporting local farmers markets and increasing access to healthy foods. This fellowship not only nurtures the next generation of food leaders but also strengthens the community's commitment to equitable food systems.
