The Living with Type 2 Diabetes Program in Petal, MS, is dedicated to supporting individuals recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This free, year-long initiative offers crucial resources to empower participants in managing their condition through a gradual and informative approach. With educational resources available in both English and Spanish, the program includes six informative e-booklets tailored to help individuals at their specific stage post-diagnosis, along with a monthly e-newsletter filled with seasonal tips and local community event information. Participants who opt to share their phone numbers will also gain access to a monthly 'Ask the Experts' Q&A series, where they can ask pressing diabetes-related questions to ADA experts, engage in discussions on the connection between diabetes and heart health, and receive helpful giveaways designed to enhance their quality of life.
