Located in Raymond, MS, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to training and empowering passionate individuals to advocate for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Throughout this immersive six-month program, Fellows engage in hands-on education at the Allegheny Farm, without any tuition fees, making the Fellowship accessible to a diverse range of participants. The program emphasizes organic food system education and offers opportunities for community engagement, such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing health-centered educational initiatives, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. Additionally, Fellows collaborate with local non-profits during their Community Action Year, applying their skills to enhance access to healthy foods and support vital food coalition activities. Applications are open until March, with the fellowship experience typically taking place from May to October.
