The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Ripley, MS, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. This empowering program offers comprehensive organic food system education without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, where they learn to cultivate diversified crops and support local initiatives such as farmers markets and community gardens. Furthermore, Fellows implement innovative health education sessions and integrate food and ecological literacy into schools. Over the course of six months, they experience immersive learning, which culminates in a Community Action Year where they apply their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations to build a fair and sustainable food system. Interested individuals should submit their applications by March to embark on this transformative journey from May to October.
