The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sumrall, MS, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates and educators for a just and sustainable food system. This initiative provides a nurturing environment for selected Fellows to engage in hands-on learning at Allegheny Farm, focusing on organic food system education and community empowerment without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Throughout the six-month immersive program, participants will gain practical experience in diverse agricultural practices, while collaborating with local partners to establish and maintain community gardens, support farmers markets, and foster initiatives that enhance food security and health education. Following this enriching training, Fellows will embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills to support regional non-profits and making a meaningful impact in their communities.
