The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Union, MS, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. This innovative program provides a comprehensive, tuition-free training experience at the Allegheny Farm, where selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning focused on organic food production, community engagement, and ecological literacy. During their six-month residency, participants not only cultivate diverse crops and contribute to local farmer's markets but also design educational programs aimed at enhancing health and food access in their communities. Following their time at the farm, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profit organizations to strengthen food systems and educate others. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship beginning in May and running through October.
