The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Vicksburg, MS, empowers dedicated individuals to become passionate advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Through this six-month experiential program, Fellows engage in hands-on education focused on organic farming, food justice, and ecological literacy at our vibrant Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. We emphasize accessibility by offering this Fellowship tuition-free, enabling a diverse group of participants to learn and grow. Fellows will immerse themselves in community initiatives, which may include cultivating diversified crops, leading innovative health care educational sessions, and enhancing school gardens. After their immersive training, each Fellow participates in a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profit organizations to make a meaningful impact in their communities. We welcome applicants to join us in creating a healthier, more equitable food system, with applications accepted until March for our program that runs from May to October.
