About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Waynesboro, MS, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in a sustainable food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic viability. Through comprehensive organic food system education, our program empowers Fellows to advocate for these values while gaining hands-on experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus. We facilitate impactful community initiatives by enabling Fellows to engage in diverse agricultural practices, support farmers markets, and develop programs to enhance access to healthy foods. Our Fellowship is tuition-free to ensure that all aspiring advocates can participate, fostering a strong network of support as they grow, educate, and mentor others. Selected individuals will spend six months immersed in innovative practices, followed by a Community Action Year where they will work alongside regional non-profits to implement what they've learned. Applications are accepted until March each year for the experience running from May through October.
