Based in Winona, MS, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to equipping passionate individuals with the knowledge and skills to advocate for a fair and sustainable food system. This transformative program provides comprehensive education on organic farming, food justice, and ecological practices, promoting accessibility through a tuition-free structure. Participants engage in hands-on experiences at the Allegheny Farm, where they learn to cultivate diverse crops, implement health-oriented educational sessions, and foster community gardens. The Fellowship emphasizes collaboration with local non-profits to enhance food access, support farmers' markets, and mentor future leaders in the field. Selected Fellows commit six months to immersive training, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their insights and drive meaningful change in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
