The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bonner, MT is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program empowers Fellows with the knowledge and skills to promote a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in a six-month immersive experience, learning about organic food systems, crop diversity, and community-driven initiatives. They will also implement projects such as educational programs for healthcare, maintain community gardens, and support local farmers markets to improve access to healthy food. Following their training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year to apply their learning with regional non-profits, fostering collaboration and advocacy within the food landscape. The Fellowship does not require tuition, ensuring that anyone committed to food justice can participate. Applications are accepted until March for the following summer's program, which typically runs from May to October.
