About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Columbia Falls, MT, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our fellowship offers an immersive, tuition-free program that educates participants in organic farming practices while promoting accessibility to sustainable food initiatives. Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our Allegheny Farm, collaborating with local non-profits to grow and distribute diversified crops, conduct innovative health education, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into schools. Through this transformative experience, selected fellows spend six months acquiring practical skills and follow it with a Community Action Year, where they actively apply their knowledge to enhance access to healthy foods and foster local food coalitions. Applications for this impactful program are accepted until March each year, with the experience typically taking place from May through October, and we warmly invite all passionate individuals to join us in creating a just food system.
