About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Deer Lodge, MT, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in creating a fair and sustainable food system. This transformative program empowers selected Fellows through comprehensive training focused on organic food systems, enabling them to advocate for social, environmental, and economic justice in their communities. Our Fellowship promotes accessibility by not charging tuition, which encourages a diverse range of applicants to engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus. Throughout their six-month immersive experience, Fellows will cultivate and distribute diverse crops, implement health-focused educational sessions, and enhance ecological literacy in local schools. They will also play a vital role in supporting farmers markets and developing access to healthy foods for their communities. Following their training, Fellows will embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills and knowledge. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
