About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in East Helena, MT, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and leaders in sustainable food systems. This program empowers selected Fellows with hands-on training and education in organic farming, community gardening, and food literacy practices. By providing a tuition-free fellowship, we ensure that our mission of promoting social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems is accessible to all. Throughout their six-month residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows will engage in meaningful initiatives such as growing diversified crops, implementing innovative health care education sessions, and supporting local farmers markets and community food coalitions. Following their training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional nonprofit organizations to put their skills into practice, fostering healthier food environments for all. Applications are accepted until March each year for experiences running from May through October.
