About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Fairfield, MT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers and trains passionate individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers organic food system education free of tuition, ensuring accessibility for all. Fellows engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, where they cultivate and distribute diverse crops, develop educational initiatives in healthcare, maintain school and community gardens, and enhance food and ecological literacy. They support local farmers markets and create distribution channels that expand access to healthy food, while mentoring the next generation of leaders. Over six months of immersive learning, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their skills, making lasting impacts in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences running from May to October.
