The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Fort Benton, MT, offers a unique opportunity for aspiring advocates and educators committed to fostering a just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship educates and empowers individuals through hands-on, organic farming practices and community engagement. With no tuition fees, we aim to ensure accessibility for all interested candidates. During the six-month immersive program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows receive practical training that equips them to promote diverse crop production, establish educational programs in health care, maintain community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy. The Fellowship also encourages involvement in local farmers markets and initiatives that enhance access to healthy food options. Following the immersive experience, participants embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March of the application year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
