About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Huson, MT, is dedicated to fostering a just food system through hands-on training and education. Our program empowers aspiring leaders to advocate for social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems. We provide a tuition-free experience that promotes accessibility, allowing selected Fellows to immerse themselves in organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm. Throughout a six-month residency followed by a Community Action Year, participants engage in vital initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health education programs, maintaining community gardens, integrating food literacy into educational curricula, and supporting local farmers markets. By partnering with regional non-profits, our Fellows develop skills that enhance community access to healthy foods and contribute to sustainable practices. The application window opens each year, with opportunities commencing from May through October.
