About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Livingston, MT is dedicated to cultivating knowledgeable advocates and teachers within our food systems, prioritizing social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in six months of immersive, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they gain valuable education in organic food systems. During their Fellowship, participants collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education, maintain community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in schools. Moreover, they support farmers markets, develop channels for healthy food distribution, and participate in community food coalition initiatives. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills alongside regional nonprofits to further enhance food assistance and access in our communities. The Fellowship is tuition-free to ensure that this transformative experience remains accessible, with applications due by March for placements starting from May.
