Located in Miles City, MT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship by the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system. This transformative program empowers Fellows through comprehensive training and hands-on experience, emphasizing the principles of social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. Participants benefit from a tuition-free educational model that prioritizes accessibility, enabling them to engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, organizing community gardens, and facilitating innovative health education. Throughout their six-month residency at our farm, Fellows immerse themselves in organic agriculture while participating in a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profits to enhance food access and ecological literacy. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, creating a path for committed individuals to influence their communities sustainably.
