The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Plains, MT, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and beneficial for all. Through immersive training at Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows engage in a comprehensive six-month program that emphasizes organic food system education and hands-on experience. This Fellowship prioritizes accessibility by charging no tuition fees, fostering a diverse cohort committed to meaningful change. Fellows have the opportunity to cultivate and distribute diverse crops, implement health education initiatives, maintain school and community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational programs. Participants collaborate with regional non-profits during a Community Action Year to apply their knowledge and advocate for improved access to healthy foods, support local farmers' markets, and contribute to community food coalitions. Applications are welcome until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October each year.
