About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Plentywood, MT, is dedicated to empowering individuals as advocates and educators for a food system that embodies social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program offers a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected Fellows receive extensive training in organic food systems without any tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for diverse participants. Throughout their journey, Fellows engage in hands-on education, grow and distribute diverse crops, and implement community initiatives such as school and community gardens, health care educational sessions, and support for local farmers' markets. After completing their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge and skills with regional non-profits to enhance food literacy and access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March each year for a program running from May to October, providing a valuable opportunity for those passionate about community-based food initiatives in Montana.
