About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Red Lodge, MT, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a sustainable and equitable food system. Our program empowers Fellows through hands-on training and experiential learning at Allegheny Farm, focusing on socially, environmentally, and economically just practices. We prioritize accessibility by not charging tuition, ensuring that anyone passionate about organic food system education can participate. Throughout their six-month fellowship, participants engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, running educational initiatives in health care, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. After their immersive training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to apply their knowledge, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. We invite motivated individuals to apply by March each year to join us for this transformative experience that runs from May to October.
