Located in Saint Ignatius, MT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, part of the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Our program empowers selected Fellows with comprehensive training in organic food systems, making education accessible by not charging tuition. Through hands-on experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating educational health initiatives, and maintaining community gardens. Additionally, Fellows promote food literacy in schools, support farmers markets, and develop distribution channels that enhance access to healthy foods. The Fellowship includes an intensive six-month residency followed by a Community Action Year where Fellows collaborate with local non-profits to put their training into practice. Applications are open until March each year, with the Fellowship experience typically occurring from May to October.
