The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Superior, MT, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators who will champion a food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program offers a unique, tuition-free opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in hands-on learning and impactful community service. Participants immerse themselves in organic food system education, collaborating with local partners to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement innovative health care educational sessions, and maintain community and school gardens. Fellows also play a vital role in promoting food literacy, supporting farmers markets, and enhancing access to healthy foods through strategic distribution channels. Over six months of experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, participants apply their training with regional non-profit organizations, making a lasting impact on the local food landscape. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
