The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Thompson Falls, MT, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a food system that is fair, sustainable, and beneficial for all. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a tuition-free experience that focuses on organic food education, enabling Fellows to participate in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm. Over a transformative six-month period, selected individuals will grow diversified crops on a market-style farm, implement educational programs, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy within schools. Our Fellows engage with community partners to support farmers markets, develop channels for healthy food distribution, and lead initiatives that foster food security. The fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year where participants apply their knowledge alongside regional non-profit organizations, furthering their impact. Applications are accepted until March each year for an enriching experience that runs from May to October.
