Located in Three Forks, MT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to fostering a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program empowers Fellows to become influential teachers and advocates by providing comprehensive organic food system education without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Over six months, selected Fellows immerse themselves in hands-on learning at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, where they engage in activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating innovative health care education, maintaining community gardens, and championing food literacy in schools. After this immersive experience, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional nonprofit organizations to apply their training and support local food coalitions, farmers markets, and direct-to-consumer initiatives. Applications are open until March each year, with experiences typically running from May to October.
