Based in Townsend, MT, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers passionate individuals to be advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic viability. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this no-cost program includes comprehensive organic food system education, allowing selected Fellows to engage in hands-on training at the scenic Allegheny Farm Campus. Over a six-month immersive experience, participants grow and distribute diverse crops, develop community gardens, and implement innovative nutrition education programs. Following their training, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits during a Community Action Year, working actively to foster food literacy, enhance farmers markets, and create impactful distribution channels for healthy food access. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the fellowship experience occurring from May to October.
