About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Victor, MT is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who advocate for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program, offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is designed to provide its Fellows with hands-on education in organic farming and sustainable practices, all at no tuition fee to ensure accessibility. During a six-month immersive experience at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows will engage in various community-centered projects, including growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating health-focused educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy among local schools. After their fellowship, they will actively apply their training during a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to further advance food assistance initiatives, strengthen farmers markets, and increase access to healthy food. Applications are accepted until March for the following seasonal cohort, with the program typically running from May to October.
