The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in West Yellowstone, MT, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders committed to creating a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on training and empowering mentorship, this fellowship allows selected participants to engage deeply in organic food system education and collaborative community initiatives. Fellows enjoy a tuition-free experience, ensuring accessibility, and gain practical skills by working on diversified market-style farms, leading educational sessions that promote innovative health care, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Additionally, they support local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs while developing vital distribution channels that enhance access to healthy foods. The fellowship experience comprises six months of immersive learning at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where graduates implement their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profit organizations focused on effective food assistance and sustainable practices. Applications are open until March for the annual program running from May to October.
