About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in White Sulphur Springs, MT, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a just food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship provides comprehensive education in organic food systems without tuition fees to ensure accessibility. Through hands-on experiences, Fellows engage in growing and distributing diversified crops, implement innovative educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and foster food literacy in schools. The program also supports local farmers markets and works to enhance access to healthy foods by developing distribution networks and collaborating with local non-profits. Over six months, selected Fellows live and learn at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their skills and knowledge in real-world settings. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
