At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Whitefish, MT, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food advocates and educators who champion a food system grounded in social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our accessible program, we provide comprehensive organic food system education that empowers Fellows to engage with diverse communities and implement innovative solutions. Our participants gain hands-on experience by growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, facilitating educational workshops for health care initiatives, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food literacy into school curricula. With a commitment to fostering local food access, our Fellows also support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, mentor future cohorts, and collaborate with regional non-profit organizations during their Community Action Year. Applications are open until March each year, and the Fellowship experience runs from May to October, creating a dynamic, impactful journey in sustainable agricultural practices.
