The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Whitehall, MT, provides a transformative opportunity for passionate individuals to learn about and advocate for a food system that upholds social, environmental, and economic justice. This Fellowship, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, eliminates tuition fees to ensure that education is accessible to all. Over the course of six months at the scenic Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in hands-on training focused on organic food systems, empowering them to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health education, and support local food initiatives. Following their immersive experience, participants dedicate a Community Action Year to apply their skills with regional non-profits, enhancing food access and sustainability efforts. The fellowship welcomes applications until March each year, with the program running from May to October, fostering the next generation of leaders in food assistance, community gardening, and ecological literacy.
