The Culinary Apprenticeship Program (CAP) in Apex, NC, is dedicated to empowering individuals who are unemployed or underemployed by offering comprehensive hands-on education and paid work experience in the food industry. Our mission is to equip participants with vital culinary skills such as food safety and sanitation, knife skills, and cooking techniques, alongside valuable life and employment skills, all while fostering a supportive learning environment. Participants benefit from direct instruction by local chefs and gain practical experience through our collaboration with the Food Shuttle’s Horizon Catering, where they learn critical event preparation and customer service skills. With all materials provided and weekly stipends included, CAP strives to unlock pathways to sustainable employment and foster a skilled workforce in the culinary field.
