The Culinary Apprenticeship Program (CAP) in Cary, NC, is dedicated to empowering individuals who are unemployed or underemployed by offering a comprehensive hands-on education and a paid work experience in the food industry. Our mission is to equip participants with essential culinary skills through direct instruction from experienced local chefs, covering critical areas such as food safety, knife skills, and cooking techniques for soups and sauces. Alongside practical training, we also focus on nutrition education, life skills, and employment readiness to enhance our students' prospects for steady employment. As part of the program, participants will gain valuable experience working with Horizon Catering, learning about event preparation and front-of-house operations, all while receiving a weekly stipend and provided materials to ensure their success.
