Located in Eden, NC, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship strives to cultivate a food system that is just, sustainable, and inclusive. By sponsoring and training dedicated Fellows, we empower them to become advocates and educators in organic food systems. Our program promotes accessibility by offering an unpaid fellowship experience, allowing participants to gain hands-on knowledge in diverse agricultural practices and community engagement. Throughout a transformative six-month residency at Allegheny Farm, followed by a Community Action Year, our Fellows learn to grow and distribute organic crops, lead health-focused educational initiatives, maintain gardens, and promote food literacy in school activities. They also support local farmers' markets and develop strategies for expanding access to nutritious foods, thus reinforcing a healthier community. Our aim is to inspire the next generation of food advocates committed to social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
