The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Franklin, NC, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of sustainable food advocates by providing comprehensive training and empowerment in fostering a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through our innovative program, selected Fellows engage in six months of hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they delve into organic food systems education and collaborate with local partners. Our initiatives include cultivating diversified crops, enhancing community gardens, and leading educational sessions on food and ecological literacy. We work tirelessly to improve access to healthy foods by supporting farmers markets and community food coalitions. Most importantly, we ensure that our program remains accessible by charging no tuition, allowing a diverse range of individuals to join us in making a difference. Applications are open until March each year, with the Fellowship experience occurring from May to October, creating impactful connections that resonate throughout the community.
