The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Graham, NC, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about creating a just food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship invites selected Fellows to engage in hands-on learning experiences at Allegheny Farm, where they receive comprehensive organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Throughout the six-month experiential residency, participants will not only learn to cultivate and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm, but they will also implement innovative health education sessions, maintain community and school gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational activities. Beyond their fellowship, they take part in a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to promote farmers markets and increase access to healthy foods.
