The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Austin, NV, offers a unique opportunity for aspiring advocates of a just food system to gain hands-on experience and transformative education through the Allegheny Mountain Institute. This program empowers Fellows to champion socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable practices in food production and distribution. By not charging tuition, we ensure that our Fellowship is accessible to all eager learners. Participants engage in organic food system education while collaborating with local organizations to cultivate diverse crops and implement health-focused educational programs. Our Fellows maintain community and school gardens, promote food literacy in educational settings, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. Over the course of the six-month residential training at Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows are dedicated to creating impactful change within their regions. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
