Located in Ely, NV, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Hosted by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program offers a unique, tuition-free educational experience that empowers selected Fellows to engage in hands-on training at Allegheny Farm. With a focus on organic food systems education, participants learn to design and implement innovative solutions to increase access to healthy foods, operate diversified market-style farms, and lead community-led initiatives such as farmers markets, school gardens, and food literacy programs. Throughout their six-month immersion, Fellows are supported in mentoring future cohorts and working alongside local nonprofits during their Community Action Year, ensuring their influence extends beyond the farm and into the wider community. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience taking place from May to October.
