About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Fallon, NV, is dedicated to cultivating passionate educators and advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic sustainability. By sponsoring and training Fellows, this immersive program empowers participants through six months of hands-on learning at our innovative farm. We provide thorough organic food system education and foster partnerships that allow Community Fellows to grow diversified crops, implement health-focused educational initiatives, maintain school and community gardens, and enhance food and ecological literacy within local schools. Additionally, we support local farmers markets and develop distribution channels to improve access to healthy food in the community. Our commitment to accessibility is clear, as we offer this transformative experience without tuition fees. Applicants are encouraged to apply by March, with the program often running from May to October, followed by a Community Action Year where Fellows apply their skills in collaboration with local non-profits to enact positive change.
