About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Gardnerville, NV, cultivates the next generation of advocates and educators committed to building a just food system. This transformative program offers a hands-on, tuition-free experience designed to empower Fellows with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems. Over six months at AMI’s Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in organic food system education, hands-on farming of diversified crops, and the promotion of community food initiatives, using innovative approaches to increase access to healthy foods. Fellows also implement educational programs in schools, support local farmers markets, and work alongside regional non-profit organizations during their Community Action Year. With a focus on fostering ecological literacy and community engagement, our Fellowship emphasizes collaboration and mentorship, ensuring that each Fellow is equipped to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the immersive experience occurring from May to October.
