The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Genoa, NV, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates and educators in creating a food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental sustainability, and economic viability. Our unique, tuition-free program ensures accessibility for all aspiring Fellows, who embark on a transformative six-month experiential journey at the Allegheny Farm. During this immersive training, participants receive hands-on organic food system education and collaborate with community partners to cultivate diverse crops, implement educational health initiatives, and enhance food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, Fellows actively engage in supporting local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer efforts, while developing strategies to improve access to healthy food for all. Following their training, participants enter a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profits, making a meaningful impact in their communities. The application deadline is March each year, with experiences occurring from May to October.
