The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Gerlach, NV, exemplifies a commitment to fostering a sustainable and equitable food system. We sponsor and empower dedicated individuals as they embark on a journey to become advocates and educators for food systems that prioritize social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers hands-on organic food system education, enabling Fellows to work collaboratively with local partners on diverse projects, such as market-style farming, educational health initiatives, community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. In addition to supporting local farmers' markets and direct-to-consumer programs, our initiative emphasizes the development of distribution channels to improve access to nutritious food across the region. Each selected Fellow engages in a transformative six-month experiential residency at our campus, followed by a year of hands-on community action with non-profit organizations to apply their learnings effectively. The Fellowship is tuition-free, ensuring that it remains accessible to all passionate individuals eager to make a difference in the food landscape.
