About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Glenbrook, NV, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a just food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental sustainability, and economic viability. Our Fellowship offers a tuition-free opportunity for participants to engage deeply in organic food system education, working hands-on to cultivate and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm. Throughout their six-month program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows will implement educational initiatives, maintain community gardens, and enrich local food literacy, all while supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer efforts. After their immersive training, the journey continues with a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations, fostering food access in their communities. Applications for this transformative experience are accepted until March, with fellowships typically commencing from May to October.
