About Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Incline Village, NV, is dedicated to fostering healthy food habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Our comprehensive services include free eligibility screenings that assess nutritional and medical needs, and we support clients for periods ranging from six months to one year, with options to reapply as eligibility criteria are met. WIC provides valuable referrals to health and social services such as immunizations, prenatal care, and food assistance programs. We actively promote breastfeeding through education and support, and offer essential nutrition education covering topics from infant health to food selection. Participants also receive monthly supplemental nutritious foods, ensuring they have access to a variety of healthy options. Importantly, WIC enrollment does not impact immigration status, as receiving these benefits does not affect the ability of non-citizens to attain U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency.
