The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lovelock, NV, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become advocates and educators for a just food system that nurtures social, environmental, and economic well-being. Through comprehensive organic food system education, our program offers an accessible fellowship without tuition fees, ensuring that aspiring fellows from all backgrounds can participate. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, including growing and distributing diverse crops, mentoring future cohorts, and implementing educational initiatives in partnership with local organizations. Participants also gain vital skills in supporting community food coalitions, enhancing food literacy, and developing effective distribution channels for healthy food access. After an enriching six-month residency, fellows collaborate with regional nonprofits during their Community Action Year, applying their training to make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience usually running from May to October.
