About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in Nixon, NV, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers individuals to become advocates and educators for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program offers inclusive, tuition-free organic food system education, enabling Fellows to work on projects that include growing and distributing diverse crops, maintaining school and community gardens, and leading innovative health care education sessions. Participants engage directly with local partners to promote food equity through mentoring, developing distribution channels for healthy foods, and supporting community food initiatives. Over six months of immersive, hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows gain the skills necessary to impact their communities during their subsequent Community Action Year. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
