About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Orovada, NV, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders committed to promoting a food system grounded in social, environmental, and economic justice. This unique program provides comprehensive organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm, enabling selected Fellows to engage in hands-on learning and community projects. During their six-month residency, participants will grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health care educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and enhance food-related literacy in schools. Additionally, they will support local farmers' markets and develop strategies to improve access to healthy food. Following their training, Fellows will embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profit organizations to further amplify their impact. With a strong emphasis on accessibility, this fellowship does not charge tuition, ensuring that aspiring advocates can participate fully in this transformative experience. Applications are accepted until March each year for opportunities running from May to October.
