About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Round Mountain, NV, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become influential teachers and advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for selected participants to engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they will explore organic food systems and deepen their knowledge of food and ecological literacy. The program fosters accessibility by charging no tuition, ensuring that aspiring fellows can readily participate. Throughout their six-month residency, fellows will collaborate with various partners to grow diversified crops, support community gardens, implement educational health initiatives, and enhance access to healthy foods through farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs. After their training, they embark on a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in partnership with regional nonprofit organizations, making a tangible impact on food accessibility and education. Applications are open until March each year for the fellowship experience running from May to October.
