The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ruby Valley, NV, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just food system through comprehensive training and hands-on experiences. At the Allegheny Mountain Institute, we empower our Fellows to engage in organic food system education and facilitate impactful initiatives in their communities. Our program emphasizes accessibility, charging no tuition to ensure everyone can participate. Over six months, selected Fellows immerse themselves in experiential learning at our campus, fostering skills in growing and distributing diverse crops, maintaining community gardens, and implementing educational sessions on food and ecological literacy. This fellowship also prepares participants to support farmers markets and develop channels for increased access to healthy foods, all while mentoring future fellows. Applicants are encouraged to apply by March each year, with the fellowship experience typically conducted from May to October, positioning them to make meaningful contributions to regional food networks and initiatives.
