The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ruth, NV, is dedicated to training passionate advocates and educators who strive for a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and economically viable. This unique program, hosted by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, provides 100% tuition-free access to a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience centered around organic food systems. Our Fellows engage in a six-month immersive residency where they cultivate diversified crops on a market-style farm, facilitate educational sessions in health care, and develop community gardens. They actively support local farmers markets and enhance food access by creating distribution channels for healthy food options. Following their training, Fellows spend a Community Action Year applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profits, all aimed at fostering stronger, healthier communities. To join this transformative journey, applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
